Tax Deductible Donations for Our Fiscally Sponsored Films

Join us on our journey, telling the story of THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER! We have shot hours of interviews with all of the group members, as well as an interview with their friend Frankie Valli, and backstage footage with Take 6 and Stevie Wonder. While the pandemic has put a hold on more shooting, we have been using this time to start editing the film, have finished a cut of the first 20 minutes, and are continuing to move forward. We still need funds to finish editing and post-production. EVERY DOLLAR HELPS!

We are sponsored by From the Heart Productions, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, so your donation to the film is                      tax-deductible.

The Manhattan Transfer may be the most influential, iconic, and beloved vocal harmony group in modern musical history.

Tracing their origins from the New York club scene, through their nearly five decades of award-winning music and thousands of performances, this film will be an intimate and honest look into the true story of The Transfer as told by its members, colleagues, friends, and celebrities who have taken part in their fantastic journey. Through the good times and bad, hits and misses, loves and tragic loss, they have given us nearly half a century of great music and fantastic stories, and they’re not done yet!

We are so grateful that The Transfer is opening up their vaults to hours of rare performances and never before seen backstage footage that will completely knock your socks off. It is our mission to bring it all to you.

It’s a story that cries out to be told and preserved on film for the ages.

I love art, I love jazz and soul. I love documentaries (I was even nominated for an Oscar for one), and I’ve loved The Manhattan Transfer’s music for decades. I also love great 4-part vocal harmony -of which The Transfer has set the bar. I hope this documentary will help bring it back into fashion.  – Miles Mogulescu, Director

No one sings 4-part harmony like The Manhattan Transfer. Recognized by fans, critics, and fellow musicians for their mastery of Jazz, R & B, Doo-Wop, Pop, and Bebop, they are, quite simply, the gold standard. It is hard to think of another internationally acclaimed group that has flourished as long at such a high level.

The Transfer has won 11 Grammys, recorded over 30 albums, and collaborated with the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Jon Hendricks, Smokey Robinson, Bette Midler, The Count Basie Orchestra, Chick Corea, Frankie Valli, Bobby McFerrin, Take 6, and Weather Report.

They’ve thrilled millions of fans around the world from small clubs, to major concert halls, to giant stadiums, running the gamut from being the summer replacement for The Cher Show on CBS to performing at The Palace Theater in London to headlining Disney Hall in Los Angeles.

And they’re still going strong!
