Logline: When her college sweetheart leaves her for a millennial, a disenchanted divorced woman finds solace with a motley group of co-ordinated and not so co-ordinated “dancers” at the local YMCA where they work out at the barre and drown their sorrows at The Happy Place, the other bar.
Inspired by a real-life Jazz class taught by a professional ex-Broadway dancer at a local YMCA, MEET ME AT THE BARRE tells the story of the coordinated and not so coordinated who come together to work out life’s travails at the barre and at the local bar.
The story revolves around the lives of Cici, (CYNTHIA GRAVINESE) a recently divorced woman who is hanging on for dear life, her best friend Dee, (DEB SNYDER) a stand up comedienne who can make a corpse laugh, and their other bestie, fearless dance teacher, Mel (MALINDA FARRINGTON) who is excellent at keeping time and keeping everyone together!

MORE ABOUT THE CAST
CICI – thrives on routine but is dealt a hard blow when her college sweetheart leaves her for a younger, prettier version of herself. Cici is hanging onto sanity by a thread while finding her way in the newly appointed role of divorced mom. Taking risks she would have never taken.
Mel – a superhuman sprite of a woman with the metabolism of a hummingbird, she is a former Broadway dancer who keeps the locals in shape and happy. Physically superior but technologically challenged, Mel would be dangerous if she knew the nuclear codes.
Dee – A brassy, ballsy, loud-mouthed stand-up comedian who can make a corpse laugh, she is a reformed bad girl who married the local sheriff who arrested her.
Pete – (Pete Gardner) experiencing a serious mid-life crisis breaks up his happy home to find newfound freedom. Pete doesn’t wander too far renting a house right next door. He’s a beloved realtor but feels the stares and discomfort of many in the local community.
Sheriff Joe Rizzolo – (Tom Fiscella) A rough around the edges middle-aged neighborhood Sheriff, Joe is the salt of the earth and looks out for his wife and friends with a hawk eye. He loves the zaniness of his wife DEE and lives vicariously through her.
